Our Policies
By The Sea Guests Bed & Breakfast and Suites’ Policies
- Non-smoking:
- We are a non-smoking Bed & Breakfast and Suites. For the comfort of our guests, smoking is not permitted indoors. (There will be a $200 extra charge per room to cover the additional cleaning needed due to smoke removal or the guests may be asked to leave without a refund).
- Rates:
- Rates are based on standard occupancy per room, based on number of beds in the room.
- Each additional person or child in a room will be charged $59 per day.
- Nightly Minimum:
- A two-night minimum stay is required.
- Three-night minimums are required for private home rentals.
- One-night stays are permitted when demand is low or when the room is only available for one night. Payment in full is required on one night stays or less.
- Deposit Policy:
- A 40% deposit must be received at the time of booking the reservation, with the balance payable in full by the day of arrival.
- Online travel agencies have their own policies they follow. Please refer to the booking platform you made the reservation on.
- Payment Methods:
- We honor MasterCard, Visa, Diner’s Club, Carte Blanche, American Express and Discover.
- Prices are subject to change.
- Checks can be sent for wedding deposits only.
- We do not have a cash drawer on premises so please plan accordingly for any gratuities.
- Cancellation Policy:
- Bed & Breakfast Guest Rooms – Prior to 14 days -$125.00 cancellation fee. If under 14 days, the 40% deposit is non-refundable.
- Bed & Breakfast Suites & Private Houses – Prior to 30 days -$125.00 cancellation fee. If under 30 days, the 40% deposit is non-refundable.
- We realize it is difficult to make reservations in advance of arrival without previous inspection or experience. We will do whatever is in our power to meet your comfort and expectations level but in no way does this alter our refund policy. High seasonal demand for waterfront properties requires us to be strict on our policies so the guest will be clear what their responsibilities are before booking. In depositing the reservation you ask us to turn away other business to hold your room. In good faith, we each do something for the other.
- Online travel agencies have their own policies they follow. Please refer to the booking platform you made the reservation on.
- No-Shows:
- 100% of the balance of the reservation will be charged to the credit card in the event of a no-show.
- Check-In/Checkout:
- Check-In is 4:00 p.m.
- Check out is 11:00 a.m.
- You are welcome to stay around, and relax on our beach or the veranda at the B&B during your wait, but we do not accommodate early check-ins or checkouts.
- Same-day reservations must be booked by 4 PM to ensure entry to the room.
- Parking:
- Parking will be limited to one car per unit for the suites as well as for each room in the B&B. Additional vehicles will have to park in the public parking lot at the town fee.
- Incidentals:
- A $15 fee will be charged to the credit card kept on file per key not returned at checkout. All guests receive two keys at check-in.
- If there are any damages, missing items, or large messes inspected at checkout, By the Sea Guests will charge the credit card on file for any cleaning or repair fees. By the Sea Guests will assess the amount of the fee and will attempt to contact the guest to communicate the charge details.
- It’s $100.00 per hour for late departures in the B&B and the Suites if able to accommodate.
- Children/Pets:
- We welcome well-behaved children.
- Sorry, we cannot accommodate pets in our complex. Please check our recommended kennel nearby, included in our brochure.
